SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Geneseo won its 15th straight and 30th overall SUNYAC women's swimming and diving championship, Saturday at the at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College (ECC). Cortland finished second and Brockport was third.

1650 freestyle - Kimberly MacDonald, Geneseo, 17:17.14

200 backstroke - Nina Chicatelli, Geneseo, 2:08.17

100 freestyle - Elizabeth Sagan, Brockport, 51.67

200 breaststroke - Lauren Sposili, Geneseo, 2:23.16

200 butterfly - Alexis Falvo, Geneseo, 2:06.01

400 freestyle relay - Alexis Falvo, Rian DickmanAmaya DiGiovanni, Kenzie Fischer, Geneseo, 3:29.21

Record Breakers

Flavo broke the meet and conferene record in the 200 butterfly set by Julia Torell (Cortland) in 2019 (2:06.74).

The Knights 400 freestyle relay team broke the meet and conference records. The records were set at 3:50.50 by Geneseo in 2013.

Diving Coach of the Year - Veronica Ribot Canales, Cortland

Grace Mowatt Award - Lauren Sposili, Geneseo

The James Fulton and Grace Mowatt Awards are given annually to a senior male and female swimmer/diver based on the following criteria: All America honors, All-SUNYAC honors, improvement throughout collegiate career and academic achievement. Grace Mowatt was an associate professor of Physical Education and the women's swimming and diving coach for 30 years at Oswego before retiring in 1993. In 1996 she won the Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton one mile ocean swim for her age group. (First award given in 1996-97). 

Elite 20

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. This year there was a tie with both recipients holding a 4.00 GPA. Geneseo's Alexis Falvo is a sociomedical science major and New Paltz's Angelina Somma is undeclared.
