New Paltz Sweeps SUNYAC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - New Paltz teammates Olivia Kunz and Nina Genzone sweep SUNYAC Women's Tennis Weekly Awards. Kunz is the Singles Athlete of the Week as well as part of the Doubles Team of the Week with her partner Genzone.
Kunz didn't drop a set against Manhattanville Friday or Plattsburgh Saturday at fifth singles, winning both her matches, 6-0, 6-0. The only loss she suffered was during the Vassar Scramble Tournament, 6-2.
Genzone and Kunz went 3-1 on the week, including winning both their dual matches this week against Manhattanville and Plattsburgh. On Friday, the duo took down the Valiants third doubles pair, 6-0 before defeating the Cardinals in third doubles, 6-1 Saturday. At the Vassar Scramble Tournament Sunday, Genzone and Kunz grinded out a win over Smith College in a tie breaker, 7-6, 8-6, before suffering their first loss of the weekend against Vassar, 8-2.
