Sawyer and Fisk Tabbed SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC names Nat Sawyer (Buffalo State) and Danielle Fisk (Cortland) as the first Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the 2023 season.

Sawyer had a record-breaking performance at the High Point VertKlasse Meeting over the weekend. The reigning SUNYAC Indoor Rookie and Athlete of the Year broke the minute mark for the victory in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.03 seconds, setting the school record by over three full seconds and the SUNYAC record by over a half second in her first collegiate outdoor meet. This time is currently No. 1 in Division III. She also won the 100-meter hurdles participate final, winning by over a half second in 14.16 seconds.

Fisk won the high jump in a field of 27 competitors and was third of 46 in the long jump at the Widener University Danny Curran Invitational. Her winning high jump of 1.66 meters (5' 5.25") is currently tied for fourth nationally in Division III and is first in the SUNYAC and the AARTFC. Her long jump of 5.40 meters (17' 8.75") is second in the SUNYAC and sixth in the AARTFC.
