Senior Sarah Zureck set a new career digs record as the Fredonia State volleyball team cruised to a pair of 3-0 victories on Day 2 of the Hawks Invite hosted by SUNY New Paltz..
The Devils took the first match over Johnson and Wales by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-9. Zureck -- who entered the game tied for the all-time digs record of 1,656 -- set the new standard with her first dig of the match. She finished with 5 digs.
The Devils' handled Mt. St. Mary's by a count of 25-19, 25-6 and 25-19. Zureck tacked on 18 more digs.
The Devils finished the invite at 3-1, coming in second place to Clarkson. Overall the team stands at 7-6.
Fredonia travels to Buffalo State next weekend for the first round of Pool Play looking to defend as SUNYAC West Division champions.
