CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) is honored to announce that Geneseo's Conlan Keenan (Rochester, N.Y.) has been selected as the 2019-20 Dr. Sam Molnar Award winner. This distinguished annual award is given to a senior male student-athlete with the best combination of academic and athletic ability as voted upon by the membership body.
The men's award is named after the late Dr. Sam Molnar, who was the Director of Athletics at Potsdam for over thirty years. He also coached various sports during this period. He served as SUNYAC President during the 1962-63 and 1963-64 years.

In 2019-20 Keenan was a first team All-American for the third-straight season and was honored as the SUNYAC Herb Hammond Player of the Year for the second year in a row. He was also selected to the SUNYAC all-conference team for the fourth time. In his senior season, he played in 27 games and scored the second most goals in DIII hockey with 22 goals and added 28 assists. Keenan led his team with five game-winning goals, seven multigoal games and two hat tricks this season. Over his four years, he helped lead his team to three SUNYAC championship titles and advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four in 2019. He is the NCAA DIII active leader in points (172) upon graduating with 86 goals and 86 assists.
Off the ice Keenan was a CoSIDA Academic At-Large All-American selection and a four-time Dean's List honoree. He organized, coordinated and participated in the Inaugural Matthew Hutchinson First Responder Walk and Pancake Breakfast. He is a part of the Geneseo Alcohol and Drugs Advisory Group and Student Conduct Board. Keenan also interns for the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and volunteers for the Livingston Blues as a hockey coach.
