CORTLAND, N.Y. - Andrea Banke (Ontario, N.Y.) of Brockport is this week's PrestoSports Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week. Fellow teammates Elizabeth Bean (Lima, N.Y.) and Linda Coleman-Lawrence (Columbia, Girardot) are awarded with this week's PrestoSports Doubles Team of the Week.
Brockport went 2-0 this weekend, defeating Nazareth and Alfred both by a score of 7-2. Banke was 2-0 in singles competition, earning wins in the fourth singles slot. She won her match 6-1, 6-4 against Nazareth. Then she earned a 6-0, 6-4 win during the match versus Alfred.
The duo of Bean and Coleman-Lawrence went 2-1 in doubles competition over the weekend as Brockport defeated Nazareth and Alfred. Against Nazareth the doubles combo won second doubles, 8-1. The pair won 8-1 again versus Alfred in the first doubles slot.
