CORTLAND, N.Y. - Plattsburgh sweeps this week's State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) PrestoSports Men's Ice Hockey awards. Joe Drabin (Rochester, N.Y.) is honored as the PrestoSports Player of the Week, Jimmy Poreda (Tonawanda, N.Y.) is the Goaltender of the Week and Adam Tretowicz (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) is the Rookie.
Senior forward Drabin tallied two goals and four assists for six points to help Plattsburgh to a 2-0-1 record on the week. Both of Drabin's goals came on the power play. Drabin began the week by tallying an assist on the game-winning goal with 45 seconds left in regulation to propel Plattsburgh to a 3-2 victory over Wesleyan University on Tuesday. Drabin then tallied one goal and two assist for three points in the Cardinals' win at Middlebury College on Saturday. Drabin finished his week by tallying a goal and an assist as Plattsburgh State overcame a 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 tie at then-No. 13 Williams College.
Junior goaltender Poreda went 2-0-1 with 68 saves, a 1.62 goals against average and .932 save percentage on the week. He began the week by making 23 saves, including 12 saves in the third period, with a .920 save percentage in Plattsburgh's 3-2 home win over Wesleyan University on Tuesday. He then backed that performance up with 23 saves and a .958 save percentage in Plattsburgh State's 4-1 win at Middlebury College on Saturday. Eleven of Poreda's saves came in the third period as the Cardinals held off the Panthers. Poreda then finished his week with 22 saves and a .917 save percentage as Plattsburgh tied Williams College, 2-2, in overtime Saturday.
