CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week. Oneonta's Victoria Varone (Commack, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week and Geneseo's Margaret Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.
In a lopsided 18-8 win at Farmingdale this past Saturday, Varone had a solid all-around game. She led Oneonta in goals (4), ground balls (5), draw controls (6) and caused turnovers (6).
Sophomore goalkeeper Rosaschi made 12 saves and earned the victory as the Knights defeated No. 15 William Smith on Wednesday, Feb. 26. With the Knights leading, 15-14, with less than 10 seconds remaining, Rosaschi saved the potential game-tying free position shot to secure the win over the Herons.
