Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Selected

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) names its final 2017 Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week before crowning this year's champions Saturday at the SUNYAC championships in Brockport.

Men's Indoor Track and Field – Field Athlete of the Year - Jon Rodgers, Brockport
(Sr., Throws - Averill Park, N.Y.)
Jon Rogers had another tremendous meet winning the shot put with a throw of 16.41-meters, and finishing in second place in the weight throw (16.26-meters).

Men's Indoor Track and Field – Track Athlete of the Year - Nick LeClair, Oswego
(So., - Liverpool, N.Y.)
LeClair set a program record in the 1000-meter run on Saturday at Brockport's Golden Eagle Invite. The sophomore crossed the line in 2:32.43, breaking Lex Barker's 2002 previous-record time of 2:33.29. The time moved LeClair into the top 20 in the SUNYAC and is the sixth best time in ECAC Division III during the 2016-17 Indoor season. 

Women's Indoor Track and Field – Field Athlete of the Week - Camille Wutz, Geneseo

Wutz set school records in winning the long jump and finishing second in the 60 at the Golden Eagle Invitational, Saturday, at Brockport. Wutz bested the field in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 3 1/4 inches (5.78m) that currently ranks third in Division III. She also crossed the finish line with a runner-up 7.85 clocking in the 60 that is tied for the 20th-fastest mark in the nation. 

Women's Indoor Track and Field – Track Athlete of the Week - Stephanie Boucher, Plattsburgh
(Sr., Middle Distance - New Hartford, N.Y.)
Plattsburgh State senior Stephanie Boucher set a program and facility record in the 1,000-meter run at the Pioneer Invitational hosted by Utica College Saturday. Boucher, who won the event in an ECAC qualifying time, covered the race in 2:55.55, bettering the former program mark of 2:56.70 set by Amanda Schermerhorn in 2013 and the former facility standard of 3:00.04 set by Amelia Mahoney in 2016. While there are no official NCAA Division III performance lists for the event, her time is currently the fastest in the ECAC so far this season.
