CORTLAND, N.Y. - Geneseo captured the State University of New York Athetic Conference (SUNYAC) men's indoor track and field championship with 177 points Saturday at Brockport's Special Events Recreation Center (SERC). This was the Knights eighth SUNYAC title and first since 2012.
Athletes of the Meet:
The SUNYAC honored both the Outstanding Track Athlete and Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet at the awards ceremony following the championships.
The Male Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet was awarded to Robert Liebel of Buffalo State.
The Male Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet was awarded to both Brockport's Jon Rogers and Cortland's Mitch Couch.
The All-Conference first and second teams consist of the top two finishers in each event. Full results
Elite 20
The SUNYAC Elite 20, is an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, which recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
The inaugural award for the Men's Indoor track & Field Championship is Matt Jenkins of Plattsburgh.
