Geneseo Men's Swimming and Diving Competes at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The SUNY Geneseo men's swimming and diving team is competing at the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C., from Wednesday, March 15 to Saturday, March 18.

DAY 1 RECAP - The Knights first day of competition was highlighted by Jake Nielsen placing 13th overall in the 50 yard freestyle, posting a time of 20.18. Nielsen's top-16 finish is good enough for Second-Team All-American status, and four points towards the team score.

In the 200 yard IM, Jack Cimorelli placed 20th in the prelims, finishing with a time of 1:50.25. Sam Matthews also competed in the 50 yard freestyle with Nielsen, and Matthews placed 28th in the prelims with a time of 20.48. In the 200 yard medley relay, the Knights narrowly missed out on making the finals, taking 17th place with a time of 1:30.30. The team of Cimorelli, Nielsen, Mark Crocker, and Matthews took part in the race for Geneseo.
