
Cortland No. 1 in 2025 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland takes the No. 1 spot in the 2025 SUNYAC women's lacrosse preseason poll. The poll is voted on by the 10 conference coaches. New Paltz is ranked No. 2 and Oswego follows at No. 3.
As the No. 1 seed in 2024, Cortland won the programs 24th overall women's lacrosse conference title. The Red Dragons went on to defeat Westfield, 13-9, in the first round of the NCAA DIII Tournament, but lost to Tufts in the second round, 21-7. Cortland ended its season 15-5 overall.
In 2024, New Paltz finished the regular season ranked No. 3. The Hawks advanced to the semifinals, but lost to the No. 2 seed to end their season 14-4 overall. New Paltz looks to win its first-ever SUNYAC women's lacrosse trophy this season.
Oswego was the fifth seed going into postseason play in 2024. The Lakers will compete to win their first-ever SUNYAC women's lacrosse title. Oswego had an overall record of 9-7 last season.
Women's lacrosse conference competition will begin March 15. The 2025 SUNYAC women's lacrosse championship tournament will begin April 26. The semifinals and final are set for April 30 and May 3 respectively.
