Caron and Lum win SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Honors
SYRACUSE N.Y. - Canton's Maddy Caron is this week's SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week, while Buffalo State's Brielle Lum is the Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Caron combined for 14 points on 10 goals and four assists to go with eight draw controls scoring both game-winning goals in a pair of wins in Florida on the Roos spring break trip. She opened the week with five goals, two assists, two draw controls and the game-winning goal in a 13-11 win against Fitchburg State on Monday. The senior followed that up with game-highs of five goals and two assists to go with six draw controls and another game-winning goal in an 18-9 win against Manhattanville on Thursday.
Lum was strong is goal for the Bengals in a pair of wins. In Wednesday's win against Grove City, Lum made seven saves in goal. In Saturday's SUNYAC Opener against Plattsburgh, Lum made nine saves with a 75.0 save percentage. With the pair of wins, the Bengals are off to their best start to a season since 2012.
