
Winn and Lum Take Home SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Oswego's Mackenzie Winn has been named the SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week, while Buffalo State's Brielle Lum takes home her second Defensive Athlete of the Week award of the season.
The awards were announced on Monday, March 31.
The Lakers picked up three wins this week by tallying 20 goals in each victory. In a 20-2 win against SUNY Poly, Winn assisted on five goals and recorded a pair of draw controls. In the SUNYAC opener vs. Fredonia on March 26, Winn led the Lakers to a 21-6 victory by registering nine assists. She then totaled five points on a goal and four assists in a 20-3 win at Morrisville on March 29.
For the week, Winn amassed 19 points on 18 assists and a goal, and curently is ranked second in the SUNYAC with 28 assists.
Lum picked up a pair of wins in goal for the Bengals in earning the Defensive Athlete of the Week award. She totaled 16 saves for week, posting seven in a 12-11 win vs. Oglethorpe on March 25 and nine more at Canton on March 29. She halted three of the final four shots on goal to secure the conference win vs. the Roos.
