
Cortland Wins fourth-straight SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Championship
CORTLAND, N.Y. - No. 1 Cortland defeated No. 2 Buffalo State, 3-0, to capture its fourth-straight and 23rd overall SUNYAC women's volleyball championship title, Saturday at Cortland's Whitney T. Corey Gymnasium. With the win, the Red Dragons earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III tournament.
Alexa Guedez was named the SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Tournament MVP after totaling 11 kills, 10 blocks, five digs and 17 points in two games for Cortland.

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
Before the first semifinal game on Friday, the SUNYAC honored Cortland's Mikenzie Martens for the third year in a row. She is a a senior physical education major, maintaining a 3.99 cumulative GPA.
