MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville senior outside hitter Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.) has added another first to her long list of accomplishments in the Mustang uniform, having earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Women's Player of the Week accolades, for action ending Nov. 17.
Huppee, the first to earn the National recognition, led the Mustangs to the semifinal round of the SUNYAC Championship tournament with back-to-back matches with more than 30+ kills.
She posted a single match best 36 kills in the five-set win over Potsdam on Tuesday, setting a new single game mark for the Mustang program, while also moving her name to the top of the Division III leader board in single match totals for kills.
Adding another 34 in the five-set match against Buffalo State in the SUNYAC semis, Huppee collected a total 70 kills, averaged 7.7 points per set and 3.1 digs per set on the week.
