SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Potsdam's Jakia Howard has been picked as the first 2023-24 SUNYAC Women's Basketball Athelte of the Week.

Howard led the Bears to a 65-64 win over St. Lawrence University on Friday, their first win over the Saints since 2019. Howard registered a double-double performance of 27 points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes for Potsdam. She also tallied two steals with only one turnover to compliment an already impressive showing. She went 5-7 from the free-throw line, her last free-throw being the game-winning point for the Bears in a one-point victory.
