SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh's Payton Couture is this week's SUNYAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Over the week Payton averaged 16.5 points and 11 rebounds. In the 2-0 weekend for the Cardinals, Payton posted two double-doubles in a row and led her team in points in both games to help the Cardinals earn back-to-back series sweeps against Buffalo State and Fredonia. Payton's best performance came on the road against Buffalo State as she scored 17 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and had an assist and steal. She then followed that up with another double-figure performance against Fredonia as she posted 16 points to go with 11 rebounds and two assists.
