SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC picks New Paltz's Brianna Fitzgerald as its Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Fitzgerald was the catalyst in a historic weekend at the Stevens Holiday Tournament. She scored a game-high 27 points including 11 of the team's 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Hawks to a 73-69 win over No. 3 nationally ranked Christopher Newport, the highest win over a ranked opponent in program history, while also adding 11 rebounds (tied for team-most), four steals (team-most) and two assists. The following day, Fitzgerald eclipsed the 1,000-point threshold for her career as she led New Paltz to a 54-51 win over Middlebury, scoring a game-high 25 points with a team-high 13 rebounds, recording her fourth double-double of the season with three steals and two assists.
