SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has chosen Payton Couture from Plattsburgh as its Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week.

Over the week Payton averaged 19.5 points on a very efficient 60.7 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from three and added 10.5 rebounds as she helped propel the Cardinals to a 2-0 week in SUNYAC play. Payton began the weekend with a strong performance against Fredonia as she had 19 points and 12 rebounds to collect her second double-double of the season. She followed that up with 20 points against Buffalo State to go with nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
