HOW IT HAPPENED

Oswego had a wild start to the game against the Golden Eagles. Macey DeOrdio shot a three to put Oswego on the board 29 seconds in. The Lakers then went on a 12-0 run for nearly six minutes. DeOrdio got possession of the ball and made a buzzer-beating layup to end the first quarter, making the score 20-9.
The second quarter saw a bit of slower play as Brockport made attempts to play catch up. Despite this, the Lakers got the better of the Golden Eagles, outscoring them 17-10 in the quarter. DeOrdio shot a scorching hot 7-7 from three in the first half.

Zhane Holmes got things started in the third quarter with a good jump shot from a pass by DeOrdio. Oswego came out strong for the second half, but momentum shifted toward Brockport. Hot shooting for the Lakers neutralized their efforts as the Lakers again outscored the Golden Eagles 17-12. Sydney Hoefs made a buzzer-beating jump shot to bump up the score to 54-31. DeOrdio was 8-8 for threes.

The Lakers entered the final quarter in the driver's seat with a 23-point lead. With the game in hand, the teams played to an even fourth quarter 16-16, resulting in the Lakers winning 70-47. The Lakers key to victory was their offensive efficiency, besting the Golden Eagles in field goal percentage 40 to 24.7. The three-point shot was also hot for the Lakers all night, converting 39.3% of their three-pointers, compared to just 4.8% for the Golden Eagles. With her eight three-pointers made, DeOrdio tied the SUNYAC record for most made threes in a tournament game along with the SUNY Oswego women's basketball record for most threes made in a game.

DeOrdio recorded a game high of 30 points made for the night. Holmes added 13 and Hoefs 6.
