SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Cortland teammates Keirra Ettere and Emma Morgan as this week's Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.
Ettere tallied three goals in a 2-0 week for 21st-ranked Cortland. She scored all three goals in a home victory versus Oneonta on Wednesday, including the game-winning goal. With her three goals, Ettere became just the 14th player in program history to reach 100 career points (45 goals, 10 assists). She had 13 shots and averaged .692 shots-on-goal percentage for the week. For the season, Ettere has scored 10 points on five goals and leads the team with two game winners.
Morgan posted a 2-0 record with a 0.50 GAA, nine saves, a .900 save percentage and one shutout last week for the 21st-ranked Red Dragons. In a 7-1 home victory versus Oneonta on Wednesday, she stopped three shots. Morgan then made six saves in posting a 1-0 home win versus defending regular-season champion Geneseo on Sunday. For the season, Morgan has a 6-0 record with a 0.83 GAA and an .821 save percentage.
