Cypress and Goodman Tabbed SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, NY - The SUNYAC honors Plattsburgh's Charles Cypress and Buffalo State's Xzavier Goodman as this week's Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week respectively.

Cypress had a fantastic weekend at the Larry Ellis Invite in Princeton, running in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash, setting the current top marks in the SUNYAC. In the 200-meter dash, Cypress finished 12th overall and third in Division III, posting a mark of 21.78 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, he finished 10th overall and second in Division III, running the race in 48.56 seconds. Each mark was a career-best for the sophomore runner.

Goodman had an excellent showing at the Brockport Invite over the weekend, coming away with three top-five finishes, winning one event, and also setting a school record in another. The freshman won the discus throw with a mark of 43.64 meters, the third-best mark in the SUNYAC this year. He also placed third in the shot put at 14.74 meters, and finished off the day breaking his own school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.36 meters for a fourth-place finish.
