SUNYAC outdoor track & field championships kick off May 5-6

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) will have its outdoor track & field championships on May 5-6 at SUNY Cortland's Stadium Complex. Men's and women's teams from the eight participating member schools will be competing for conference titles.

Last year, Oneonta and Cortland won the women's and men's titles, respectively.  Oneonta's first-place finish on the women's side was highlighted by several event victories, including Rachel Shine's 800 and 1500 meter race wins. Cortland's championship win on the men's side included top finishes from Jarred Iacovelli in the 3000 meter Steeplechase and Nick Vachon's in the high jump.

Since 2006, Cortland has garnered the most SUNYAC championships, with five titles each for men and women.  Geneseo is close behind with four men's and women's titles and will look to catch up at this year's championship meet. This year will mark Cortland's first time hosting since 2013.
