Buffalo State’s Karen Shaddock and Cortland’s Lindsey Abbott have been named co-players of the week after reaching an NCAA Milestone while Bengals’ Colleen George was selected the goalie of the week.
Shaddock became one of just five players in Division III history to score 400 career points. She set a new school record with 10 goals in a single game against Geneseo and tied the school mark with 12 points on Tuesday. She finished with nine points in 16-4 win versus Potsdam. Her 415 career points rank her third in NCAA DIII history.
Abbott is one of just five players in NCAA Div. III history to score 400 career points. She reached the milestone in a 22-1 win versus Potsdam on Tuesday and raised her career total to 404 points with her three goals in an 8-7 win at Fredonia St. on Saturday.
George helped keep the Bengal’s playoff hopes alive, backstopping the team to a pair of SUNYAC wins last week. On Tuesday, George stopped 13 shots and picked up two groundballs in the 17-11 win over Geneseo. She made three saves on Saturday in the 16-4 win over Potsdam.
