SUNYAC selects Ice Hockey Athlete, Goalie and Rookie of the Week recipients

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its Athlete, Rookie, and Goalie of the Week for men's ice hockey. This week's Athlete of the Week is senior Mitch Herlihey (Ottawa, Ont) from Oswego, Goalie of the Week is the sophomore Anton Rosén(Orsa, Sweden) from Fredonia, and Rookie of the Week goes to Josh Biasillo(Orchard Park, N.Y) from Fredonia. 

Herlihey led Oswego to two SUNYAC wins this past weekend. First, Herlihey scored two goals in the Lakers' 7-1 win over Potsdam. Then, the senior recorded a goal and an assist in the Lakers' 5-2 victory against SUNYAC rival Plattsburgh. He ended the weekend with a +3 rating and 5 shots.  

Rosén, stopped 65 shots in two Blue Devils home wins over SUNY Canton this past weekend. With his team up 2-0 in the first game of the series, Rosén had a key stop on a breakaway with a glove save, which was one of 36 saves on the night in a 5-1 win. He added 29 saves in the second game, a 5-2 Fredonia win. He ends the weekend with a  save rate of .956. Rosén improved to 5-0-0 this season. 

Biasillo had a goal in each game as the Blue Devils swept SUNY Canton 5-1 and 5-2 this past weekend. He also had an assist to go along with a short-handed goal in the first game of the weekend. Biasillo had a plus-three in the two games vs. SUNY Canton.
