SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Nate Guillen from Oneonta as the Baseball Athlete of the Week and Cortland's Dylan Beers as the Pitcher of the Week.
Senior Guillen had a solid week as the Red Dragons went 3-0 against Fredonia. He totaled five hits (.455), two doubles, one triple, five runs, and four RBI. In the 12-2 win against the Blue Devils, Guillen went 2-for-3 with two runs. He hit a double and stole a base with two more runs in the 10-8 win. He wrapped up on Saturday going 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBI, and one run.
Beers allowed only one hit and one walk and struck out six batters in six innings in Cortland's 4-0 win at Brockport. Beers improved to 6-1 on the season, including 5-0 in conference play, with the victory.
