SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Adam Mieczkowski and Shane Van Dam have been named the SUNYAC Baseball Athlete of Pitcher of the Week respectively.

Mieczkowski batted .538 (7-for-13) with four homers, a triple, a double, a walk, 12 RBI and five runs scored in a three-game sweep at Plattsburgh as Cortland clinched the SUNYAC regular-season title. He began the series by going 3-for-5 with a homer, double and five RBI in a 10-1 win on Thursday. In the opening game of Friday's doubleheader, he finished 3-for-4 with two homers, five RBI and three runs in a 15-2 victory, and in the nightcap he hit a two-run homer to give Cortland the early lead in a 6-2 victory. Mieczkowski's four homers came in the one of the nation's largest parks (350 down the lines, 385 in the alleys, 402 to center).

In just his second start of the season, Van Dam allowed only two hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts in five scoreless innings in a 15-2 win at Plattsburgh. The win was part of Cortland's three-game sweep of the Cardinals to clinch the SUNYAC regular-season title.
