O'Neil and Steinhart Earn SUNAYC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Jamie O'Neil from Oneonta as the Men's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week while New Paltz's Ryan Steinhart has been named the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

O'Neil continued his breakout campaign with a nine point performance in Oneonta's conference-opening victory over SUNY Potsdam. In his first conference game, O'Neil recorded seven goals off 12 shots and tallied two assists as the Red Dragons defeated the Bears, 17-7. This season, O'Neil leads the SUNYAC in goals (31) and points (39).

Steinhart was the reason the Hawks came out with two wins this week and are currently on a four-game winning streak (the most since the inception of the program in 2020). He made 15 saves in a 16-6 win over Delhi earlier in the week and then set a career (and program most) 24 saves in the teams first ever win over Plattsburgh, and just second SUNYAC win ever. In 60 minutes, Steinhart faced 50 shots and allowed just nine goals in a crucial, 18-9 win.
