Haley and Roman Recognized with SUNYAC Softball Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC selects Oneonta's Delaney Haley as its Softball Athlete of the Week and New Paltz's Lindsay Roman the Pitcher of the Week.

Delaney hit an incredible 11-for-17 for a .647 batting average and tallied 11 runs, six stolen bases, and an RBI in SUNY Oneonta's 6-0 week. Haley finished 5-for-8 with five runs, an RBI, and three stolen bases in a doubleheader sweep against Union. In their second win against the Garnet Chargers, Haley became the Oneonta softball program leader in stolen bases in a season and career stolen bases. She went 2-for-4 with three walks and a stolen base in the Red Dragons SUNYAC doubleheader win over Fredonia, then finished off the week 4-for-5, scored four times, and stole two bases in a pair of wins over Buffalo State. Haley is currently first in the SUNYAC in stolen bases (28) and is third in batting average (.427).

Roman pitched back-to-back complete game shutouts in a 2-0 win over Buffalo State and 5-0 win over Fredonia this weekend. She allowed just five hits in the two games combined with eight strikeouts. In 14 innings pitched, she had an ERA of 0.00, a WHIP of .36 and a k/7 of 4.00.
