CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland topped Brockport, 3-0, to win its 10th overall SUNYAC women's soccer championship, Saturday at Cortland's Fred Holloway Field. With the win the Red Dragons earned an automatic berth into the NCAA DIII tournament.
Defender Bryn Thompson was named the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Tournament MVP after playing all 180 minutes of the tournament for Cortland. Thompson, a graduate student, helped the Red Dragons hold their opponents to just one goal and 11 shots on goal overall.

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
This year Cortland's Lexi Burke was honored with the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Elite 20 award. Burke is a sophomore exercise science major with a 3.98 overall GPA.
