Sawyer and Jensen Recognized with 2024 SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Performance Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Buffalo State's Natalia Sawyer and Geneseo's Lance Jensen are the 2024 SUNYAC Women's and Men's Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Performance award winners, which are voted on by the conference coaches. This award recognizes unique or objectively superior performances at the conference championship each season.

Sawyer, was a triple winner at the 2024 SUNYAC championships. She defended her conference titles in both the 100 and 400-meter hurdles and anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay. Sawyer crossed the line first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.77 seconds as she broke her own school record while also setting a new SUNYAC record. Her time of 1:00.56 in the 400-meter hurdles was the fastest in the field by over five seconds and her anchor split in the relay of 54.25 seconds was the fastest split by three seconds. Sawyer currently holds the top time in the AARTFC Region in both hurdles while also sitting third in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the 400-meter hurdles in the country.

At the 2024 SUNYAC championships, Jensen won the 400-meter race in a time of 48.31 and the 200-meter dash in 21.51. His preliminary round 400-meter time of 47.61 set a new SUNYAC meet record. Jensen was also a part of the 4x100 relay team that finished third (42.58).
