SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Geneseo's Amaya DiGiovanni is the recipient of the 2024 SUNYAC Dr. Dolores Bogard award. This award is nominated and voted on by the member institutions and is presented annually to a senior athlete with the best combination of academic and athletic ability with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30.
After finishing her undergraduate degree in just three years, DiGiovanni pursued her masters degree this season and recorded a 4.0 GPA. In the pool, she is a two-time second-team All-American, a nine-time SUNYAC relay champion, and is a part of the SUNYAC record holding 200 and 400 relay teams.
DiGiovanni earned Dean's List honors every semester at Geneseo as a 3.9 GPA undergraduate student with a major in education and was the 2023 English Department Writing Contest Award winner in the diversity studies category.
Dr. Dolores Bogard was an administrator and coach at Cortland for over twenty years. She served as SUNYAC President during the 1987-88 year. Click here to see past winners.
