Oswego's Lefave Named ECAC Pitcher of the Week and Tabbed National Honorable Mention

Oswego State baseball pitcher Dustin Lefave has been named the ECAC Upstate Pitcher of the week ending April 17. The senior hurler was also tabbed by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association as honorable mention for Division III national recognition.

Lefave helped the Lakers snap a seven-game losing skid by recording a nine-inning complete game win over nationally-ranked #12 Cortland in a 3-1 decision on Wednesday. Lefave fanned eight, including the final four Red Dragon batters of the game, and walked three allowing one unearned run to score in the fourth inning. The win snapped Cortland’s ten-game win streak and it marked the first time since April 2, 2006 that Oswego State had defeated Cortland. He is the third straight and fourth overall SUNYAC pitcher to be recognized by the ECAC this season.
