Brockport Baseball to Play in Auburn, NY Regional

The College at Brockport Baseball team learned late Sunday night that it had received the #7 seed in the Auburn, NY Regional bracket for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Golden Eagles will face St. John Fisher College the No. 2 seed in the first game of the double-elimination regional competition.

The entire schedule with opponents and game times will be released Monday morning.

Brockport (23-16) earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with its victory in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament in Cortland earlier in the month. St. John Fisher (28-12) earned an at-large bid to the tournament after winning the Empire 8 regular season championship. The two teams played twice this season with Brockport winning a 7-6 decision at St. John Fisher and the Cardinals winning a 12-9 game at Brockport.

All games in the regional will take place at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY the minor league home of the Auburn Doubledays.

SUNY Cortland is the host school and is also the top seed in the regional. St. John Fisher is the second seed followed by Oneonta State (#3), Skidmore College (#4), Keene (NH) State (#5), Farmingdale State (#6), Brockport and Castleton (VT) State (#8).
