SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Oneonta teammates Avery Leonard and Jackson Maby are the SUNYAC Men's Wrestler of the Week and the Wrestling Rookie of the Week respectively.
Leonard competed at 149 pounds and went 5-0 with two first-round falls and three tech falls to help Oneonta go 5-0 in duals and win the Electric City Duals team title at the University of Scranton. The junior began with tournament with three straight tech falls, a 15-0 at 3:47, a 17-2 at 2:41, and an 18-1 at 2:48. Leonard recorded a 1:23 fall in the semifinals and ended the tournament with a 1:15 fall in the finals against Scranton's Luke Burke.
Maby finished 5-0 at 141 pounds with a pair of first-round pins and three tech falls to help Oneonta go 5-0 in dual matches and win the Electric City Duals team title at the University of Scranton. The freshman started the day with two pins at 2:32 and 1:24, then he recorded an 18-2 tech fall at 5:48. In the semifinals, he posted an 18-2 tech fall at 5:48, and capped the tournament off with a 19-3 tech fall at 5:12 against Scranton's Charles Arobone.
