Bishop and Maby Earn SUNYAC Men's Wrestling Weekly Honors
CORTLAND, N.Y. - St. John Fisher's Torin Bishop is this week's SUNYAC Men's Wrestler of the Week while Oneonta's Jackson Maby earns his seventh Rookie of the Week accolade.
Bishop beat Alex Smith by fall (3:56) in the Cardinals' comeback 21-20 victory over Brockport on Friday. The Cardinals fell behind 9-0 early in the duel, Bishop's victory put them ahead 10-9. Fisher never trailed again.
Freshman Maby, who is ranked fourth in Region 2 at 141 lbs., beat RIT's Josh Post, who is ranked sixth in Region 2, (141 lbs.) in a 4-2 decision. Maby's victory helped the Red Dragons defeat the Tigers in a dual, 24-20.
