Eight Tabbed ECAC All-Stars
Eight SUNYAC women’s soccer players have been chosen to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate All-Star team. And SUNY Cortland goalkeeper Pam Monnier has been honored as the 2011 Defensive Player of the Year. The voting was done by the coaches in the ECAC Division III Upstate Region membership.
Monnier claimed Defensive Player of the Year honors after a stellar season in net for the Red Dragons. She finished the season with 11 shutouts in 23 games, posting a sizzling goals-against average of 0.66 to go with her .847 save percentage. The SUNYAC Player of the Year is Cortland’s career save leader in 314 in four seasons.
Monnier was also named the first team goalie. Joining Monnier with first team honors was Geneseo forward Anne Beinetti, Fredonia midfielder Reilly Condidorio and Cortland defender Kelly Wanser.
Beinetti set a single season school record with 17 goals in 2011 and added four assists to tie the school mark with 38 points.
