Women's Soccer has Ten Players Earn All-Region Honors
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its list of Div. III All-Region selections and SUNYAC had ten women’s players selected to the All-East Team. The group is led by Fredonia midfielder Reilly Condidorio (LeRoy, NY) and Cortland forward Jackie DeLuise (Schenectady, NY), who were both selected to the first team. Five players garnered second team honors and three players were tabbed third team.
Reilly, who earned first team All-SUNYAC honors this fall, is earning her first All-Region team selection. She started all 20 games that she played in and contributed 14 goals and four assists. Fredonia completed a 12-8 season in 2011 including a 6-3 mark in the SUNYAC, which ranked them third.
De Luise led Cortland with nine goals and finished second on the team with three assists and 21 total points in 23 games. She registered three game-winning goals. De Luise scored twice in a 4-0 win over Oswego that clinched Cortland’s State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) regular-season title and notched a goal and an assist in the Red Dragons’ 2-0 win over Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) in the NCAA tournament third round.
Cortland finished the season 14-6-3 and won the SUNYAC regular-season title with an 8-1 mark. After falling in the SUNYAC tournament finals, the Red Dragons earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Div. III playoffs. Cortland advanced past three rounds of the NCAA tournament (a tie with penalty kicks and two victories) before losing in the national quarterfinals and tying for fifth place nationally.
Cortland goalkeeper Pam Monnier (East Northport, NY) and defender Kelly Wanser (East Northport, NY) were both selected to the second team.
Monnier posted a 0.66 goals against average and an .847 save percentage in 23 games. She recorded 11 solo shutouts and played a role in three others. Three of her shutouts came during the NCAA Div. III tournament. In Cortland’s NCAA first-round game versus Eastern University (Pa.), Monnier made four saves in a 0-0 tie and stopped five straight penalty kicks – three of which would have ended the season – as the Red Dragons advanced to the second round.
Monnier was a third-team all-region selection in 2009 and was a four-time first-team All-SUNYAC honoree, including the league’s Player of the Year this fall. She is Cortland’s career leader with 314 saves in four seasons.
A starter in all 23 games, Wanser finished the season with three assists and helped anchor a defensive unit that recorded 14 shutouts and allowed only 15 goals. Wanser assisted on Cortland’s goal in a 1-0 victory at Case Western Reserve in the NCAA tournament second round.
Plattsburgh’s Lindsey Keyser (Keeseville, NY) picks up all-region honors for the second straight season earning first team honors in 2010 and second team honors in 2011. She appeared in all 16 games this season and tied for second in team scoring with 10 points on three goals and four assists. The Cardinals’ team captain tallied five of her 10 points against SUNYAC opponents. Keyser finished her four-year career with 17 goals and 12 assists.
Geneseo placed two placed on the All-East region second team. Senior forward Anne Beinetti (Honeoye Falls, NY) set a school record with 17 goals and tied the school mark with 38 points on the season, while senior midfielder Bre Glynn (Holley, NY) scored one goal and four assists for six points. Geneseo finished with a 14-4-2 record, with a fifth place mark of 5-3-1 in SUNYAC. Geneseo defeated #4 Oneonta by a score of 1-0 in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament and fell to top-seeded Cortland in penalty kicks in the semifinals after a 0-0 draw.
Arielle Schneider (Plainview, NY) anchored the stingy Brockport defense that allowed just 18 goals in 18 games to earn third-team All-Region. The senior recorded a goal and an assist from her sweeper position. Her goal came on a penalty kick in the 6-0 win over Canton and her assist was on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Plattsburgh.

Junior Stacey Wood (New Hyde Park, NY) is making her first appearance on the All-Region team as a third team selection. She totaled two goals in 23 games, all as a starter for Cortland. She tallied the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory at Brockport and scored the first goal in a 2-1 overtime win at Oneonta. Wood has started 58 of Cortland’s 63 games over the last three seasons.
Shannon Cobb (Poughkeepsie, NY) anchored a Hawk defense that posted a program-record setting 14 shutouts. She drew starts in all 23 of the Hawks’ matches this season, and she scored three goals. Cobb is the first Hawk women's soccer player to be an All-Region honoree since 1999.
The Hawks (14-6-3, 6-2-1 SUNYAC) won their first-ever league title with a 1-0 victory over SUNY Cortland. They made an improbable run to the round of 16 at the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, and finished the 2011 campaign ranked 11th in NCAA Division III in goals-against average (0.46) and tied for 22nd in NCAA Division III in shutout percentage (.609 shutouts per game).
