Plattsburgh No. 1 in SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Preseason Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC releases its 2023-24 men's ice hockey preseason poll as voted on by the conference coaches. Plattsburgh, the 2023 SUNYAC champion, sits at the top of the poll while Oswego was voted No. 2 and Geneseo No. 3.

In 2023, Plattsburgh won its 24th overall SUNYAC men's ice hockey crown and first since 2017. The Cardinals defeated No. 1 seeded Oswego, 2-1, in the championship game. Plattsburgh ended its season in the first round of the NCAA tournament finishing 20-6-2 overall.

Oswego entered the 2023 SUNYAC post season ranked No. 1, but was defeated by the Cardinals in the conference final. The team finished the 2022-23 season 17-9-1 overall. In 2024, the Lakers look to win their 11th overall conference title and first since 2014.

Geneseo ended last season 18-7-2 overall with a loss to Plattsburgh in the semifinals. The Knights will fight for their ninth overall SUNYAC men's ice hockey trophy in 2024.

2023-24 conference competition will start November 1. The first round of the SUNYAC men's ice hockey championship is set for February 21. See the full bracket here.
