Stockdale, Filak and DiAddorio Earn SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC selects Plattsburgh's Bennett Stockdale as the Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week. Brockport's David Filak is the Goaltender of the Week and Plattsburgh's Tio DiAddario earns his third Rookie of the Week honors this season.

Senior forward Stockdale was named the LayerEight Shootout Tournament MVP after a three-point weekend as No. 1 Plattsburgh won the LayerEight Shootout Tournament Championship. Stockdale scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Norwich on Friday night and assisted on the game-winning goal in the team's championship win over No. 11 Norwich. For the weekend, he finished +2 and also put 13 shots on goal for the Cards.

Filak started and played all three games this week for the Golden Eagles. In Filak's 185:00 minutes on the ice this week he made 107 saves, allowed 7 goals giving him a save percentage of .939% and earned himself his first collegiate win. Filak was a huge part of the Golden Eagle defense this weekend earning Tournament MVP at the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational. Filak was vital in the Golden Eagles effort, taking down two ranked teams in less than 24 hours. In Saturday's game against #10 Salve Regina, Filak had 33 saves and allowed two goals, leading the Golden Eagles to upset the Seahawks 3-2. Sunday Filak was vigilant in net making 37 saves amongst 65:00 minutes, allowing two goals. Filak saved all three attempts in the shootout securing the win for the Golden Eagles.

First-year forward D'Addario continued his outstanding rookie campaign over the weekend earning the LayerEight Shootout Tournament's Most Outstanding rookie as No. 1 Plattsburgh won the tournament championship. D'Addario picked up an assist in the team's 2-1 win over St. Olaf and then registered the game-winning score against No. 11 Norwich in the championship game.
