Berke, Schell and Panchisin Earn SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNAYC has picked Cortland's Nate Berke as the Men's Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week, Oswego's Cal Schell as the Goaltender of the Week and Geneseo's Luke Panchisin as the Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 5.

Berke helped lead Cortland to a pair of home conference wins last weekend, scoring five points on one goal and four assists with a +3 rating. In a 6-3 victory versus Buffalo St. on Friday, berkelium recorded a goal and two assists. He followed up with a pair of assists in a 5-2 victory versus Fredonia on Saturday. For the season, Berke leads the Red Dragons with 12 points on three goals and a team-high nine assists.

Sophomore goaltender, Schell did not allow a goal last week en route to two SUNYAC wins. He totaled 32 saves on the week with 17 saves against the Buffalo State Bengals and 15 stops against the Fredonia Devils. 

Panchisin scored in both games for the Knights this past weekend, as Geneseo tallied a 6-2 win over Brockport and 4-1 victory over Canton. Panchisin's pair of goals brings his season total to a team high four goals. His goal against the Golden Eagles also marked the game-winning goal.
