GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo softball team will be sponsoring a Strikeout Cancer fundraiser on Wednesday during its doubleheader with RIT.

The Strikeout Cancer game has been an annual fundraiser for the Geneseo softball team and has raised money over the past five years for cancer research. Both teams will be wearing uniforms to signify the game and its cause.

All proceeds will go to the Alex Hollander Education Fund in honor of 24-year Buffalo State head softball coach Sandy Hollander, who waged a six-year battle with cancer before passing away in 2012, and her son, Alex. 

The Knights encourage anyone who would like to donate to please forward their donation to the Geneseo Women's Softball program. Donations will also be accepted at the game, while Geneseo softball apparel will also be on sale with all proceeds going to the Alex Hollander Fund. 

Wednesday's games are slated to start at 3:00 p.m. at Vic Rasci Field.
