Oneonta Softball Team Lends Hand to Habitat for Humanity

This past weekend, the SUNY Oneonta softball team lent a hand to the Habitat for Humanity.  The Red Dragons helped out at 257 County Route 46 in Mount Vision.  This was the first time that the softball team has been involved with HFH, which is something that new head coach, Sara Headley, was involved with at her previous position at Mercyhurst University.

"Habitat for Humanity is a fantastic organization," said Headley.  "Working with Habitat is a great way for our student-athletes to experience the benefits of hard work while being at service to others."

The team was on site Saturday and picked rocks, moved dirt, seeded and mulched the whole lawn.

Sophomore Cassandra Kohler (Walden/Valley Central) explained "Volunteer work is important because we were physically making someone's life better with our own hands as a team.  By volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, we worked towards making this family's life better by working on their soon to be new home."
