Rauseo and Schuldt Named Player and Pitcher of the Week

 

BASEBALL PLAYER – Oswego
John Rauseo (Mattituck, NY/Mattituck), freshman outfield
Oswego State freshman outfielder John Rauseo had a big week at the plate for the Lakers posting a .667 batting average and a 1.000 slugging percentage. In an 11-3 win over Utica, Rauseo went 3-for-3, driving in six runs and scoring three. In Saturday's game one win against Oneonta, Rauseo had a hand in four of Oswego State's six runs with two runs scored and two RBI, including the eventual game-winning RBI in the top of the seventh. In game two, he went 4-for-5 to finish the day 7-for-8 in the doubleheader. Rauseo gave the Lakers a chance in the top of the ninth to tie the game when he led off the inning with a single.
 
BASEBALL PITCHER – Cortland
Aaron Schuldt (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool), senior
Senior Aaron Schuldt allowed only three hits and two walks and struck out a career-high 14 batters in seven innings as Cortland defeated visiting Plattsburgh, 11-0, in a nine-inning game Friday. Schuldt is 4-0 with a 1.72 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 36.2 innings pitched this spring.
