D3baseball.com Team of the Week (Week 9)
MINNEAPOLIS – Junior third baseman Matt Prescia (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) of the State University of New York at New Paltz baseball team was selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the week ending April 29, 2012, as announced Tuesday by D3baseball.com.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its inaugural season of recognizing the top performance at each of 13 positions from the previous week. This is the ninth Team of the Week of the 2012 season.
Prescia batted .857 (6-for-7) against No. 7 SUNY Cortland over the weekend, helping the Hawks offensively in two close losses. In game one of a doubleheader with the Red Dragons on Saturday, he batted 3-for-4 with a double, and in the nightcap, he boasted all three of the team's hits in a 3-for-3 outing at the dish. For the season, he batted .349 with 20 runs scored, 14 RBI, four doubles and a home run.
New Paltz finished its season at 18-21 overall (5-13 SUNYAC).
