Weekly Softball Honors go to Stoddard, Dumas and Coneys

 

Liverpool natives Lorraine Stoddard and Emily Dumas have been named co-players of the week after similar performances at the plate while Maddie Coneys was selected the pitcher of the week.
 
Lorraine Stoddard (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) – Cortland – senior outfielder
Stoddard batted .562 (9-for-16) with three homers, 11 RBI and nine runs scored during a 6-0 week for the Red Dragons. She hit a combined three homers and drove in nine runs in a doubleheader sweep at Nazareth Tuesday. Her seven RBI in the first game are the third-most by a Cortland player in the last 25 years. Stoddard's batting .407 with four homers and 17 RBI in 19 games this spring.
 
Emily Dumas (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) – Brockport – sophomore infielder
Dumas batted .545 (6-of-8) with three homers, eight RBI and three runs scored during a four game week for the Golden Eagles. She hit a combined three homers and drove in seven runs in the doubleheader against Oswego on Saturday. Dumas hit safely in all four games and on the season is batting .405 with four homers and 18 RBI in 16 games.
 
SOFTBALL PITCHER- Buffalo State
Maddie Coneys (Clifton Park, NY/Catholic Central), freshman
Buffalo State pitcher Maddie Coneys continued to dazzle in her rookie campaign as she earned two more wins in the circle, extending her record to 5-0. She hurled a complete game on Friday against Plattsburgh, going seven innings and allowed just one earned run. Coneys returned to the circle on Saturday against SUNY Potsdam and gained her second victory of the week, as she tossed all seven frames. She scattered four hits and permitted one walk while striking out five batters.
