Cortland sophomore outfielder Meaghan Kohler and Plattsburgh junior pitcher Ashley Marshall have been named the SUNYAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week. It is the second honor for Kohler this season while Marshall has been selected for the third time. The duo has also been selected as the ECAC Upstate Division III Player and Pitcher of the week for the week ending April 22.

 

Kohler batted .421 with three homers, 11 RBI, five runs scored and a .947 slugging percentage in six games. She homered in wins over St. John Fisher, Potsdam and Plattsburgh, including her third grand slam of the season in the Potsdam contest. Kohler has broken the school single-season record with 54 RBI and has tied the school mark with 12 home runs through 36 games.

Marshall continued her dominate season by going 3-0 on the week including picking up two wins in the SUNYAC including a win over #10 Cortland to snap their 53 conference game win streak. She pitched 23 innings only allowing five earned runs for a 1.52 ERA on the week. She tossed 38 strikeouts including two double digit strikeout performances while allowing three walks. She now is 16-3 on the season and leads the conference with 199 strikeouts.
