Donegan, Jones and Mahoney Take SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey First-Ever Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC has picked its first-ever women's ice hockey weekly awards. Cortland's Dany Donegan earned the Player of the Week status while Maggie Jones from Morrisville was named the Goaltender of the week and Cortland's Katie Mahoney was picked as the Rookie of the Week.

Donegan helped lead 14th-ranked Cortland to a weekend sweep at Stevenson to open the season, scoring six points on two goals and four assists and recording a +4 rating. In a 12-0 win on Friday, she tallied two goals and two assists and followed up with a pair of assists in an 8-0 victory on Saturday.

Jones backstopped the Mustangs to a 5-0 season opening win over Lebanon Valley Friday night, collecting 17 saves across 60 minutes of action in net to earn the shutout victory.

Mahoney totaled four points on three goals and one assist and recorded a +4 rating in a weekend sweep for 14th-ranked Cortland at Stevenson over the weekend. She registered her first collegiate point on an assist in a 12-0 win on Friday and recorded a hat trick with a +3 rating in an 8-0 victory on Saturday.
