SUNYAC Releases Women's Ice Hockey Weekly Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Plattsburgh's Julia Masotta is the SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week, Cortland's Molly Goergen is the Goaltender of the Week and Plattsburgh's Zsofia Pazmandi is the Rookie of the Week.

Masotta continued her season as one of the strongest offensive players in the country over the weekend, tallying four points, highlighted by a two-goal, one-assist effort in Friday's 7-0 win over Buffalo State. She added an assist in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Bengals, upping her season total to 20. This season, Masotta ranks third in the country in assists per game (1.18) and fourth in the country in points per game (1.71), all while leading the SUNYAC in points and assists.

Goergen posted a 3-0 record with a 0.33 GAA, 76 saves, a .987 save percentage and two shutouts as the Red Dragons improved to 14-3-1 overall and 9-2-1 in the SUNYAC. In a 2-1 home victory versus 12th-ranked Elmira on Tuesday, Goergen stopped 31 shots. She then turned aside 20 shots in a 7-0 win at Morrisville on Friday and completed the weekend with 25 saves in a 3-0 home victory versus the Mustangs on Saturday. For the season, Goergen has posted an 8-3-1 record with a 1.07 GAA, a .963 save percentage and four shutouts.

Pazmandi continued her strong first-year campaign against Buffalo State over the weekend, tallying two goals and four assists to help power the Cardinal offense to two big wins over the weekend. In Friday night's win, Pazmandi scored twice and was +2, and followed her fourth career two-goal game with her first career two-assist game on Saturday afternoon.
